Bringing Hope and Opportunity

Empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable support and opportunity.

About Light of Future Foundation

Light of Future Foundation is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities in Kenya. We focus on assisting widows, widowers, orphans and people living with disabilities through programs that create opportunity and restore dignity.

Our work includes education support, community empowerment, clean water access and youth development. By working directly with communities, we aim to create lasting and sustainable impact.

The foundation is guided by a committed leadership team, including Vice Chairman Nixon Omondo Owino, Secretary Vincent Okoth Okallo, and Treasurer Kennedy Oyamo Mumbo, whose dedication helps drive the organisation’s mission forward.

Our Founder

Francis Ouma Sikuku, from Inungo village, Kenya, is a musician, plumber, choir teacher, and counsellor with a deep passion for serving his community. From a young age, he engaged in charity work—visiting widows’ homes, helping with cleaning, fetching water, and collecting firewood—which planted the seed for his lifelong commitment to helping others.

In 2016, Francis began formal studies in Social and Community Development, though financial challenges prevented him from completing his diploma. Inspired by his experiences, he dedicated 20% of his earnings from music and plumbing to charitable efforts.

In 2021, Francis began the process of officially registering his work as a charitable organization. After four years of dedication and paperwork, the Light of Future Foundation was formally registered with the NGO Board in May 2025, receiving its official certificate.

Francis describes his work as a personal mission: “Serving humanity is my passion, and it brings me great joy. It has been a long journey, but with God’s grace, we are now able to make a lasting impact in our community.”

Success Stories

New home built for Philister in Inungo village

Philister’s Story

Philister is a widow from Inungo village whose husband passed away in 1979. Since then, she has faced many years of hardship, struggling to survive on her own.

When we met her in 2023, she had been living in a grass-thatched house for over 45 years, often suffering from illness due to the poor conditions.

With the support of generous donors, we were able to build her a safe and secure home at the age of 85, greatly improving her quality of life.

Elijah recovering and supported by Light of Future Foundation

Elijah’s Story

Elijah is a widower whose wife passed away in 2016. After her death, he faced many challenges living alone and struggled to cope with daily life.

We met Elijah in December 2023 in a critical condition. He had fallen into a coma, and we immediately arranged for him to be taken to hospital for urgent treatment.

With the support of our online donors, we were able to raise funds to cover his medical bills and also build him a safe and stable home.

Doctors later confirmed that Elijah was suffering from epilepsy and other health conditions, which had previously caused serious injuries, including burns to his leg.

We thank God that Elijah has now recovered and returned to his normal daily activities. We are especially grateful to all who supported this effort, including our main supporter, Kristen.

Precious receiving education support in Nairobi

Precious’s Story

Precious is a young girl living in the Mathare slums with her guardian. Life has been challenging, especially during periods of severe flooding in their area, which made daily survival even more difficult.

During this time, her guardian struggled to provide basic needs, including education support. We stepped in to help Precious continue her schooling by providing school fees, uniforms, and shoes.

With this support, Precious has been able to stay in school and continue her education with confidence.

We believe in supporting children’s education, as they are the future leaders of tomorrow.

These are just a few of the lives that have been changed through your support.

With your help, we can continue to provide homes, healthcare, and education to those who need it most.
